John Lennon has a remarkable history of accomplishments! He is responsible for 27 number one songs on the US Hot 100 chart. Aside from all of his accomplishments, John Lennon was also a political activist. John and Yoko Ono participated in several acts during President Nixon’s time in office. Lennon and Yoko had such a strong voice that, Nixon believed that his campaign would be threatened by Lennon and  his opportunity for re-election could be at stake!! As a result, Nixon tried to have him deported due to his involvement in a concert that was being held in San Diego during the time of the Republican National Convention! Lennon spent 3 years of his life in and out of deportation hearings and trials. This threw the American people into riots! After attending rallies, televised appearances, and hundred of trials, John finally received his Green Card during the inauguration of Jimmy Carter in 1977!
