Here at Red Brick we strive to provide a quality craft beer experience, both in the bottle and at our brewery. Our team is a family, rooted in the company’s rich history of being Georgia’s oldest brewery. We take a handcrafted approach to this business, from the brewhouse to the bottle and pride ourselves on innovation and an artisanal quality product. We also strive to be community-oriented by doing things like offering specialty brews and other services to our contemporaries, mentoring-up and-coming breweries, and partnering with local charities.
Jekyll Island, Georgia was the location of the first brewery of the Deep South in 1738, and now Jekyll Brewing is proud to be the first brewery located in Alpharetta, Georgia. I am fortunate to be partnered by award winning Brew Master and Co-Owner, Josh Rachel, whose creative direction brings a line up of brew styles that will cover the entire spectrum of global craft beers. Together, we are intensely focused on creating sophisticated hand-crafted beers from the finest ingredients. This is just the beginning. We have a passion for the art of creating great beer, a love of the comradery of the craft beer industry, and a desire to share our passion with you. Why don’t you join us for the ride. Founder Mike Lundmark
In August of 2008, an aspiring young brewer with big dreams and neophyte confidence plunged head first into an adventure fraught with stories of mountainous challenges, perilous doubt and the occasional ghost story (more on that in a minute) determined to brew the beer he loved and wanted to share with fellow beer-loving brothers and sisters. If it weren’t for the challenges posed, one might speculate whether JailHouse Brewing Company would have ever made it from paper and pen dreams to concrete and stainless steel reality. You see, it’s not the fear of failure or loss that drives us, it’s the fear of not trying. Wild Heaven Let There Be Light Who says lighter beers have to be boring? Wild Heaven Craft Beers has taken on that challenge with their brand new brew Let There Be Light. As the brewery’s first “sessionable” beer, Let There Be Light comes in at only 4.7% ABV yet is full of flavor. Starting with both barley and wheat, brewmaster Eric Johnson added two rare hops—Nelson Sauvin and Sorachi Ace—along with a bit of orange peel, to create a complex beer with a citrus note that will change the way you think about “light” beer. “Wild Heaven is always about flavor first and we noticed that people assume you can only get big flavors from big beers.” says Wild Heaven President Nick Purdy. “We challenged ourselves to create a beer that’s really interesting, complex and flavorful, but would fit those occasions that a more sessionable beer fits the bill. With Let There Be Light, an obviously tongue-in-cheek name, we think we’ve done it.” A bright, spicy Belgian-style wit. An effervescent, easy-drinking wheat beer, brewed with Belgian yeast, German hops, and a whisper of ginger from the Far East. This mustachio’d Belgian-style wit believes that good beer defies borders. The name Fu Manbrew was crowdsourced with some help from our friends at Scoutmob. They call the mustache a “Flavor Savor” for a reason. Single Intent pays tribute to Belgium’s Trappist breweries, which make a lighter-bodied blonde ale that’s set apart for the monks’ personal consumption and not sold—hence the term Patersbier, meaning “father’s beer.” With a spicy, herbal aroma from French Strisselspalt hops, this crisp and complex ale is too good to keep cloistered.
SweetWater’s roots began back in Boulder, Colorado in the early 90′s while Freddy Bensch and Kevin McNerney were roommates at the University of Colorado, Boulder. During their time out west, they realized they had more of a hankering for beer than books. Their first step into the profession was washing kegs on the loading docks of a local brewery for free beer. Not a bad job when you’re in college! With all this free beer, their grades went up, their cars got fixed, friends were plentiful and the sun shined a little brighter. Once they were finished with school, it was time to either find a real job, or get serious in the brewing business. Easy choice, right? Freddy and Kevin headed off to the American Brewers Guild in California aka Brewing School to sharpen up their knowledge of “Fermentation Science”! After that they were off and running brewing beer for other breweries around the west coast, learning their craft while keeping the dream of their own place alive. (Click for all the juicy details) Eventide Brewing was formed out of friendship and a love of good beer. Nathan, Haley, and Geoffrey all met at Georgia Southern, and later on began to experiment with homemade pickles, mustard, cheese, and beer. Nathan and Geoffrey’s first batch of beer was brewed on a “Mr. Beer” kit. Shortly after realizing they needed to upgrade, Nathan fabricated a three kettle brew system, which is still used to create our test brews today. Mathew joined the team a few years later after being introduced to the group through one of Haley’s close friends. The combination of everyone’s background and talents has allowed us to build this company from the ground up, become closer friends, and craft award winning beer. We are very happy to call Atlanta home and to provide this great city with offerings that will really show what “Craft” can be. To us, great doesn’t have to be complicated. This refreshing and sessionalable lager is golden in color with slightly sweet and biscuity malt notes, bittered with noble hops. We throw in a twist by adding a blend of Pacific Northwest hops to present a subtle citrusy aroma.
