Although not set in Italy, the garden at Flint Hill certainly embraces this concept. Because of their accommodating weather, Southerners enjoy the outside almost year round. It only makes sense to design garden rooms, much like the interior of a home, that invite guests around for a look-see. After all, who doesn’t like the grand tour?
Set back from the sweeping front lawn, a quaint iron gate welcomes guests into what can only be described as an outdoor foyer serving the same purpose as the one in a fine home. Continuing your tour, an arch covered walkway doubles as a hall to connect the front with the back revealing more of the garden’s secrets at the end of the path. Here guests discover a formal courtyard and gazebo designed as a gathering place for all. Serving as a bonus room, the cozy outdoor den is an unexpected find with its mock fireplace and potential “room” for a lounge area. And then there’s the all white bridal garden—an intimate hidden spot perfect for a chance meeting. And that’s just the outside!
Nestled on a quiet street surrounded by grand oak trees, Flint Hill, located in historic Norcross, is the essence of Southern hospitality. This 170-year old home is a unique blend of old southern charm and modern function. Built in 1835, the mansion captures the antebellum era yet is only minutes from the cosmopolitan, fast-paced city of Atlanta. Named to the National Historic Register in 1979, Flint Hill, owned and operated by Magic Moments, opened as a full service special event facility in 1987.
The home and grounds provide a beautiful location for weddings, corporate events, and meetings. Magic Moments specializes in wedding receptions providing award-winning cuisine, décor, and cakes. Flint Hill offers outdoor and indoor locations for wedding ceremonies and receptions, both providing beautiful photo opportunities.
Inside the mansion, guests enjoy exclusive use of the facility throughout the event. The downstairs area offers a gift room, groom’s room and bar as well as intimate sitting areas. A large ballroom lined with French doors includes the buffet area and dance floor overlooking the gardens. A quaint gazebo adds to the romantic setting making it a wedding favorite. Located on the second floor is an elegant bridal suite. Following their ceremony, it is here that the bride and groom enjoy a quiet moment together and perhaps share their first meal at the “Table for Two”.
Although designed with the bride in mind, Flint Hill also appeals to the corporate client seeking a relaxed retreat. All it takes is one turn onto the curving, gravel driveway for time to slow and the enchantment to begin. Welcome home.
Congratulations to all of the Brides + Grooms who’ve gotten married at Flint Hill!
