Gowns, Themes, Venues…Oh My!! With so many options and so little time, how do you go about planning the perfect 2012 wedding? Just think- dreamy, sentimental, love. With the New Year just shy of a month away, here are a few things to keep in mind when planning your special day:
.) Illusion Necklines: For the perfect balance of sexy & sophisticated, try an Illusion Neckline for 2012. An illusion neckline combines a skin-baring bodice with a sheer fabric overlay extending from the bust to the collar. Check out this gorgeous Carolina Herrera piece below.
.) Full Scale Themes: One of the main wedding trends for 2012 is going with a full-scale theme!! Don’t just pick one theme for one aspect of your wedding! A full scale theme is carried throughout the invites, save the dates, flowers, centerpieces and even the food and desserts. Think Vintage, Rustic and Natural! But more importantly, be sure it reflects YOU!
.) Outdoor Venues: Outdoor weddings have been becoming increasingly more popular throughout the last couple of years and looks to continue into 2012. An outdoor venue not only provides a beautiful natural ambiance, but also requires very little additional decor. Think beaches, mansions, country clubs, family farms, and museums! Check out the photo below! This was taken at the beautiful Rose Garden, which is located at Atlanta Botanical Gardens near Piedmont Park in Atlanta.
.) Dessert Tables: Did you know that stressed spelled backwards is desserts?!! Coincidence? I think not…why go with one option when you can have a whole table full? Instead of the traditional Wedding Cake & Groom’s Cake, Dessert Tables are a great way to incorporate both the brides & grooms favorite treats.
.) Good Night Stations: Aside from the ice-cream and birthday cake, everyone knows that the next best thing about attending a birthday party as a kid were the fabulous goodie bags!! So why not continue that trend as an adult and see that your guests have a little something to take home with them! The goodnight station is set to take the wedding world by storm in 2012. A goodnight station is a table full of additional goodies to see guests off at the end of the night. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are credited to have started this trend back in 2002 by providing Krispy Kreme donuts for their guests as they departed from the reception. Yum!
.) Faux Flower Decor: Think outside the vase. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box when creating your flowers and decorations. Why not try feathers for a fun, flirty, flower-alternative to traditional wedding bouquets?!! Fabric, tissue and paper can also be used as creative alternatives.
.) Personalized DIY Decor: Although DIY is not necessarily a new trend, it continues to stay strong as Brides find creative ways to showcase their personality and save some cash. DIY, or do-it-yourself, wedding reception centerpieces and decorations typically reflect you, your fiance and your wedding theme more than anything a florist could put together for you, and you’ll do it for a fraction of the cost. Nature-inspired accents are just one of the many hot bridal trends for 2012.
